Laura Ingalls Wilder WaysideLocated just seven miles north of Pepin on County Road CC, this reconstructed log cabin paints a charming and historically-accurate picture of where Laura was born and what prairie pioneer life was like. The cabin features informative displays about Laura and her family. The wayside is a modern and well-maintained, with picnic tables and restrooms. Fresh water is available as well -- but you have to pump it yourself, just as Laura did! Open year ' round.
Laura Ingalls Wilder MuseumThe stop for Laura buffs! Located right in Pepin on Highway 35, the museum offers displays, memorabilia, antiques and souvenirs about Laura and the pioneer era. Volunteer staff will answer questions and provide fascinating insights on Laura and her life. Souvenirs are on sale as well. See hours here.
Pepin Depot MuseumLocated on Highway 35 and in the Laura Ingalls Wilder Park. This building was the original Pepin depot, and was saved from destruction years ago by a former railroad employee. Now restored, it's chock full of railroad and steamboat memorabilia that's been donated by museum patrons. Volunteer staff are on hand to help bring the past alive. Souvenirs are on sale. YMCA Camp Pepin/Retreat and Conference CenterLocated four miles upriver from Pepin just off of Highway 35 and Deer Island Road. This is a complete and recently renovated facility for kids and "children of all ages" that's tucked into 30 acres of trees, grass and beautiful Lake Pepin shoreline.
Services and activities include: retreat/conference facilities for up to 120 people; meal/banquet facilities for up to 150; 12 rustic cabins for overnight accommodations; Teambuilding, High Ropes Course and Group Initiatives at Camp Pepin; and Client-site Teambuilding with the Mobile Team Building Center. Open Year 'round.
Dan's Pepin MarinaRock gently aboard your boat while resting in the quiet beauty of the marina, which offers seasonal and overnight dockage and boat launching services. A public ramp is also available.
Not boating? Take a walk on the marina's stone breakwaters for an inspiring sunrise or sunset, or watch the eagles, barges and recreational river traffic. Seasonal/overnight dockage available from May-October.
Lake PepinSimply put, a treasure twelve months a year! Formed by the delta of Wisconsin's Chippewa River, Lake Pepin is a 28-mile-long, three-mile-wide natural waterway that is part of the mighty Mississippi. Glide across our waters in summer or winter aboard a sail or fishing boat, canoe, kayak, or on ice boats, snowmobiles, skis or skates. Fish year 'round with direct access to Lake Pepin, and the Mississippi and Chippewa Rivers. Open at your convenience!
Tiffany Wildlife AreaThis 13,000 acre refuge straddles the Chippewa River and delta and offers excellent wildlife watching, semi-wilderness canoeing, hiking, camping, hunting and fishing. Open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year.
